South Sudan, the world’s youngest country, faces considerable challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Years of conflict, economic instability, and climate-related issues like droughts and floods have exacerbated poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and clean water. The UN and donors play a crucial role in addressing the multifaceted challenges spanning humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts in South Sudan.

Discover the interactive South Sudan Development Cooperation Dashboard.

This interactive dashboard provides comprehensive overview of development cooperation projects being supported by donors and UN entities in South Sudan. The South Sudan Development Cooperation Dashboard is a joint initiative by the Heads of Cooperation (HoC) in South Sudan and its currently funded by the German Embassy. Data collection and analysis was conducted by the GIZ in collaboration with the UN and donors.

It currently features critical data on development work from 11 donors and IFIs, and 14 UN Entities, making it easier to coordinate development cooperation in the country. It provides a snapshot view of who funds what, where and when in South Sudan, allowing for visualization, and comprehension of the development scope and paving way for proper inclusive planning and decision making on development prioritization. The dashboard improves and enhances development coordination between government and development partners and support timely decision-making for donors and UN entities. The dashboard will be updating regularly as new information trickles in.
